STCC Book Club November Author - "Forrest for the Trees"

Join me on November 18 at 4pm PST when I chat with the STCC Book Club about Forrest for the Trees! This is one of my very favorite book clubs; I was invited to talk about Loaded: A Holiday Romance back in 2020 and I’m honored to be asked back for a second time as a guest.

STCC Book Club doesn’t operate like other book clubs. Members have a chance to ask me questions, but I also have a chance to ask questions of them. I’ve prepared the following set of questions to ask readers about Forrest for the Trees:

  1. A lot of my readers tell me Forrest is one of their favorite characters who I have written. What makes Forrest a great character?

  2. Who was your favorite side character?

  3. How important is it to you that characters who are bad actors or who are problematic in some way get what they deserve?

  4. The longer I write, the more I find I like my romances with a little mystery. What are the elements of a romance novel you love that keep it exciting?

  5. When you read M/F romance, do you care more about falling in love with the hero or identifying with the heroine?

  6. This book is grumpy/sunshine and two more upcoming books I’ve written are grumpy/sunshine. Is this a trope you read a lot? If so, what do you love about it?

  7. How important is it to you that a book has an epilogue? Do you want to know what happens right after the book ends or do you want to know what life is like for the couple a few years from the end of the story?

  8. If you are reading a book that calls itself a rom-com, how funny do you want it to be? Laugh out loud funny in every chapter? Funny premise? One or two really funny characters?

  9. What was your favorite scene in the book?

  10. What was the book’s biggest surprise?
